2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda. The UN chief Ban Ki-moon told Rwandans it should “never again” happen anywhere as so many survivors broke down in tears.
20 years ago on April 6th, 1994 the brutal, ferocious, savage, violent, dangerous, ruthless, remorseless, merciless, heartless, callous, cruel, harsh, cold-blooded, inhuman, fierce, barbarous, barbaric, brutish, bloodthirsty, fiendish, sadistic, monstrous genocide began in Rwanda. Shortly after Hutu president Juvenal Habyarimana was killed when his plane was shot down over Kigali. Roadblocks were set up, with Tutsi men, women and children of all ages butchered with machetes, guns and grenades. At least 800,000 innocent people, mostly Tutsis and some moderate Hutus, died.
It’s heartbreaking just to even think about it. My God bless the souls of those who were brutal murdered and may Jesus walk with those who survived.
